Wednesday Pub Night Portland #75 - 7:00 pm at The Armory
Back to the Pub Night home page
There is much to celebrate this week fellow PubNighters.
5 years ago today, in the words of our founding father Stuart Piltch
"Reaching back to an ancient tradition of drinking on
Wednesdays to celebrate half the week being over, we
are starting a Wednesday Pub night tonight."
And so it began, in the back room of Swift Hibernian Lounge. And it has continued, almost uninterrupted, for the last 5 years and spread here to Portland. So Dan, Stuart, and I have been out drinking every Wednesday for the last 5 years. Calculating 2 beers each (sometimes way more, usually never less) would mean that we have consumed over 520 beverages each in our 5 year PubNight adventure.
Congratulations to the PubNight triumverate and all of our friends in NYC for carrying on this great tradition. We will raise our glasses to you in honor this evening. Cheers
And in other celebration news, Miss Petra, soon to be birthday girl, in what seems to be a trend of picking hotel bars for the site of her birthday PubNights, has chosen the bar at the Armory. I don't think they have food, so grab something to eat and meet us there at 7. Or earlier, if you decide to skip the food thing. Olives in martinis count as their own major food group.
So come share a night of good beer and good friends and celebrate what PubNight is all about. See you there. . .
Cheers,
Laura
