Wednesday Pub Night Portland #50 - 7:00 at The Ale House

Back to the Pub Night home page

Greetings,

Well here we are on the eve of another snowstorm in what the Weather Service is saying is likely to be a rather severe winter. Current predictions for tonight's storm are still only 3 to 5 inches much of it likely to be washed away by sleet or freezing rain. Is Dave Santoro still naming these winter storms?

Now that we're all a year older - I figure we should celebrate all the PubNight birthdays that have gone unnoticed by us in the past year. By last count there were about a boatload of people who are getting the email each week, but I can only remember celebrating about a dozen or so birthdays on PubNights. So by my calculations, which have been certified by Katherine Harris, there should be an awful lot of people out there who haven't been honored by a PubNight birthday toast.

Here's your chance. I took the liberty of selecting a place since getting you all to agree would be difficult. So come and celebrate your bygone birthday with us.

Also - stay tuned for next week's very special Holiday PubNight. That's our big end-of-the-year PubNight when we see all the PubNight people we don't see every week. So, keep the night open and I promise to be early with the email and Laura will update the pubnight.com webpage early as well. We've got a sort of special location planned - a place we've sort of never been to before.

But for this week - it's and old, old favorite. A place we haven't been to since PubNight:Portland No. 6

  • The Wine Bar
  • Wharf Street - across from Street & Company
  • 7:00
  • best to eat beforehand as their food is tasty but sparse - more on the appetizer side than the entree side

See you at PubNight.

- Dan
