Well, friends it's that time of year in Portland -
time for the tree in Monument Square
time for the funky lights on Congress Street
time for the WinterFest train rides under the Eastern Promenade
time for horses and carriage rides in the street
and since we can't be bothered with any of that, it's also
time for Holday PubNight:Portland
Holiday PubNight:Portland continues a long tradition of special holiday
PubNights begun many many years ago. What makes it special is . . .
well, nothing really - it's just another excuse to go out and
celebrate. But it is a nice way to (nearly) end a year of PubNights.

(around an hour after 7:00)
And beware of the exceptionally full moon:
"The upcoming winter solstice on December 22 is also a time of lunar
perigee - when the moon is closest to the Earth. This will make the
full moon (also on Dec. 22) appear 14% bigger than normal as well as 7%
brighter."
