Wednesday Pub Night Portland #4 - 8:00 at Empty Pockets

Back to the Pub Night home page

This week, I let Stuart choose the location for out weekly outing. I
also told him which pub to pick.

So, this week we'll be going to Empty Pockets. Although I've never been
there myself, it comes highly recommended to me by a professional
bartender on the "other" side of the river. It's an Irish pub on Forest
Ave., just off Congress Street in Portland's glamorous "Arts District".

Can't think of a whole lot of things to celebrate this week, but as
always I'm open to suggestions. If you don't have any personal
celebratory things going on, it's a great way to embarrass your friends
when they're listed in the weekly email.

Noteworthy this week are:

- World AIDS day (actually last Wednesday - did anybody see the time and
temperature clock flash AIDS DAY instead of ABC8 NEWS all day?)

- PubNight:Portland surpasses its New York cousin with eleven people
showing up in Portland (http://www.pubnight.com/portland)

- The sixth night of Hannukah (http://www.chanukah.com or
http://webit.simplenet.com/audio/chanukah.ram for the musically
inclined)

- The beginning of Ramadan (http://www.ramadan.com - couldn't find any
ramadan songs)

The summary:
Date: Wednesday, December 8
Time: 8:00 PM
Place: Empty Pockets Pub, 27 Forest Avenue

Hope to see you there.
