Wednesday Pub Night Portland #37 - 7:00 at Old Port Tavern

KARAOKE - a Japanese abbreviated compound word: "kara" comes from
"karappo" meaning empty, and "oke" is the abbreviation of "okesutura,"
or orchestra.
Don't be scared.
Fellow birthday-celebrating pubnighter Melissa was the lucky one who got
to select this week's PubNight:Portland location. Being a fan of
karaoke (or perhaps a fan of karaoke singers?), she decided to go to one
of Portland's well established Wednesday night karaoke bars. There's a
rumor circulating that we've been here on a prior PubNight (my birthday)
although I don't recall much of that particular night.
There have also been rumors circulating of an attempted PubNight coup by
a certain very slow-eating member of our group. Unlike most failed coup
attempts, where the supposed coup-er is hanged, shot, drawn and
quartered, tarred and feathered, and so forth; I hear that this time
there will some amnesty granted. PubNight peace talks are scheduled to
continue in Camp David just as soon as they get this whole middle east
thing figured out.
