Wednesday Pub Night Portland #135 - after 5 at Laurie's

Back to the Pub Night home page

Hello gang,

Well, another month has passed so its now time for another "PubNight at Home" in the new 2002 Portland PubNight tradition.

So this week we're heading to my house in Portland (if you need directions, please email me and let me know). The catch is, however, you all need to help me finish off all the left-over hot dogs and munchies I have from the annual Mt. Abram softball game last Saturday. I'm so sorry Dan will miss "hot dog night", since I know they're one of his favorites, but I'm sure he'll be enjoying another fine meal in some far off coastal village on the coast of Portugal....

And I even have a somewhat strange sampling of beers left over (I know you all find it hard to believe that my crazy ski friends would leave beer, but they did), so you can either take your chances, or bring something you know you'd enjoy (but you'll have to finish what you bring, or else we'll have another traveling cooler to deal with this summer).

In looking for things to celebrate this week, it seems like this is a big day in baseball history (invention of the game, the first "perfect game", and dedication of the Baseball Hall of Fame). [Editor's note: What is a perfect game? Read here] I know basically nothing about baseball (except that it goes well with hot dogs), but I'm sure Petra can help get us all excited about these things.

Let's hope the weather holds for grilling and hanging out outside, but if not, David's already been to my house to re-arrange the furniture.... if you feel like something other than hot dogs, please feel free to bring anything else you'd like. If anyone feels like contributing a salad or dessert-type thing, that would work well too.

I'll be home by 5:00, so feel free to stop by anytime after that...

See you tomorrow...
