Wednesday Pub Night Portland #121 - 6:30 Chez David & Greg
Back to the Pub Night home page
'Twas two nights before PubNight and all through the house
not a creature was stressing, not even a Greg.
The logs were all stacked in the fireplace with care
in hopes that the PubNighters soon would appear......
Hello Fellow PubNighters,
This weeks PubNight is the first of the month and that means a home
PubNight, and Greg and I have volunteered to host.
It has been decided, apparently by something called a.... I think the
term was ....secret tribunal?, that the hosts of a PubNight should also be
in charge of sending out the e-mail. Oh joy, oh rapture, i am just so
excited....... thank you very much. Yet.......I digress,
So here goes...
First, and foremost, please do not expect a rambling e-mail. After last
weeks masterful ramble by Stuart, I would only pale in comparison, and it has
made me rethink my whole concept of rambling or the very thought that I
too could have lived under the illusion that i too could ramble (heavy
sigh).
So... here is the short and the sweet of it. This weeks PubNight is
going to be our house in the fabulous, and always entertaining, town of
Buxton, or as we call our corner....Salmon Falls.
Since we will be getting home only slightly before you arrive the food
will be kept fairly light and easy (unlike that fabulous presentation
from Emeril Piltch of Peaks Island (Bam!).
We are planning on having several oven baked sandwich breads and some
chips and salsa to start things off. If you would like to contribute,
maybe a appetizer type thingy would be fun, but not necessary.
Greg and I will will have a wimpy, yet somewhat respectable selection of
beer on hand. Otherwise, if something else will wet your whistle (you
know our liquor cabinet) you may want to bring your own.
So, on to PubNight!
Where: Greg and Davids in Salmon Falls (directions available if needed)
What Time: 6:30 to 7:00 or whenever
Oh and yes, reasons to celebrate this week? On the 6th of March...
In 1933, the start of President Roosevelt's first administration brought
with it the first woman to serve in the Cabinet: Name that lady!
In 1936 something fell, Do you remember what it was?
We hope you all can make it and look forward to seeing you there.
Respectfully Submitted,
David & Greg
PS Now, I know a lot of you are wondering, and possibly concerned,
about
our stress levels. Greg and I thank you for your thoughts and concerns
but we are doing ok. The wood stove and fireplaces are all set to go and
the living room has been re-arranged to accommodate the PubNight crew to
allow all of us to gather around a simply fabulous gay white man fire.
DISCLAIMER; Please not that although the furniture is arranged to allow
for everyone to gather around and enjoy the fire, this is not how we
normally arrange the living room furniture. Thank you.
