Fellow Imbibers,

Last month, on the first PubNight of the month we all wound up at Piltchland in Falmouth. The feedback was that a PubNight @ Home was a good thing. So we've decided to start a tradition - the first PubNight of each month, we'll visit someone's house and turn it into a Pub for the night. Hopefully, we'll get volunteers to offer their homes -- otherwise we'll just have to vote for a house and show up uninvited.
So this month, the PubNight Tribunal met (excluding any out of town members, and members of any secret or faux tribunals) and we decided to have PubNight at my home on Peaks Island. Here are the details:

Parking on the mainland:
- street parking: meters run until 6:00 PM, after that street parking is free until 9:00 AM the next morning
- garage parking: there's a multi-story garage adjacent to the ferry terminal. Cost is $1 per hour
- Portland Ocean Terminal parking: Flat fee of $5 for the old BIW lot to the left (east) of the ferry terminal. See guard in gatehouse to pay before you park.

Getting there:
Ferries out to the island leave Portland at 5:35 and 7:15 and 8:15 PM from the ferry terminal at Commercial & Franklin. Ride is about 20 minutes. Tickets are $3 for a round trip (collected as you board in Portland only). I'll be on the 5:35 ferry and will have a car on the Island to transport everybody to the house. I'll can also make a run down to meet the 7:15 or 8:15 ferries if you can't make the earlier boat.

Eating & Drinking:
I'll have pasta, veggies, and salad along with pretzels and potato chips (bring your own chocolate chips). Bring a bottle of wine or some beer or whatever else you like to drink. Bar selections have temporarily dwindled down to a bottle of Absolut vodka, and some peaty scotches which you're welcome to drink. For those last-minute minded folks, Kraig should have some wine available at La Roux (ex-Whip & Spoon) which is within walking distance of the ferry terminal.

Getting home:
Ferries leave the island at 7:40, 8:40, 9:40 and 10:55 PM. Again - I can drive you to the boat. All are welcome to stay over if that's more convenient. I have a spare bedroom with room for two, as well as other miscellaneous sleeping arrangements. Ferries start running at 6:15 AM.

Suggestion - if you can make it, take the 5:35 ferry out, which will put you at the house a little after 6:00. Leave yourself a few hours to enjoy food, drink & company, then plan on a ferry home - 8:40 if you need to be home early or 9:40 or later if you're not in a rush. Any variation on this theme is perfectly acceptable.

RSVPs would be helpful - but feel free to show up unannounced if you want to surprise us. If you want a ride to the house, let me know what boat you'll be taking.

That's everything I can think of. I'm sure I've left out some vital detail, but since Stuart is in Florida hopefully no one will pester me about it unnecessarily ;-)

Hope to see you at PubNight @ Home on Peaks.
