Greetings fellow PubNighters on this dreary icy morning. We have a very big celebration this week. It's time for the annual Birthday SkiFest PubNight, honoring Laurie our fearless ski bunny birthday girl. Once again it's 2 for 1 Thursday skiing at Mt. Abram, and birthday girl Laurie has chosen a pub in Bethel followed by half price skiing for her PubNight. (PubNight Bylaws Chapter 14 section 7 paragraph 3 states "In the event that a PubNight falls within 7 days of a PubNighters birthday, said birthday PubNighter is allowed to determine the destination for PubNight during that week. If the birthday PubNighter is not able to attend, it may be celebrated 1 week earlier or 1 week later. If the birthday PubNighter is also not able to participate in one of those 3 PubNights, they forfeit the ability to choose a destination for their birthday PubNight. In the event the birthday PubNighter is unable to make a decision {e.g. Greg}, a proxy representative may be appointed by the birthday PubNighter. If the birthday PubNighter is unable to appoint a representative, the decision is forfeited and returns to a member of the Top Secret Tribunal.")
So for those of you going skiing, contact Laurie for directions to the pub in Bethel, for those of you staying in town, we'll be having dinner honoring Laurie, Goddess of the Slopes, Winner of the 2001 Mt. Abram Finish Your Beer By The Time You Get To The Bottom Of the Mountain Cup, at Ribolitta on Middle Street.
Happy Skiing! Make sure to work up an appetite for the super deluxe gourmet lunch provided by the fabulous and culinairily talented Miss Petra and her lovely (and I'm sure patient) assistant Keith!
