Wednesday Pub Night Portland #113 - 7:15 pm at RiRa
Back to the Pub Night home page
Greetings to all on this windy and snowy morning.
Just watched a little snowstorm from my window here -- thick enough to obscure the South Portland shore but not enough to obscure the few docks left in the water on the shore here. According to radar, looks like another bout of snow is on the way in a few hours.
In thinking about where to go for PubNight, I began thinking of what the perfect antidote for a cold, snowy, windy, winter day would be. I came up with two things: a fireplace and a Guinness. The fire would warm your body and the Guinness would warm your soul (or at least make you forget that you're cold if you have enough of them).
I'll be grabbing a quick bite beforehand, and I'd suggest we all do the same if you have time -- this way we can cozy up around the big table in the bar on the right-hand side as you walk in. They (usually) don't serve food in this bar - so bring your thirst and a full stomach.
Also - we can drink a special toast to Chef Kraig's new job at Le Roux (the old Whip & Spoon). Stop by and buy lots of stuff!
