PubNight #6 (11/10/05) - 8:00pm at Hightopps Back Stage Grill

This week we head to Timonium to visit a recent renamed location. The Turf Inn has new owners, and instead of that easy to remember name it's now called Hightopps Back Stage Grill. I don't know about you, but all of the things I associate the word "Hightopps" with are both a) not food, and b) not good. This is as bad of an idea as that short period when The Barn was renamed; some people just don't understand the value of a well recognized venue name. But I digress. John writes:

"The Turf Inn (aka Hightopps Back Stage Grill) is going to be a semi-flash back to anyone who used to be a regular at the Bayou Blue Cafe in White Marsh on Thursday nights. The Godfather, who used to DJ Karaoke up at the Bayou, has moved on to a different (and hopefully better) venue for his Thursday gig. It's also rumored that some of the old Bayou crowd has continued their stalking and made their way over to Timonium. So to feed Robin's insatiable lust for karaoke, we're going to stop by and live like it was 10 months ago....

Additionally the food is pretty good, and from what I remember (although I was a little dazed at the time), the prices aren't too bad."

The Karaoke starts at 9:30, so early birds may be able to eat and run before then--or have enough drinks to soften the ears before it starts. Greg amuses himself while people sing by auditing the song book for errors. Be sure to look up the description for Meat Loaf's "Bat out of Hell" for the funniest thing in there.

Making you an offer you can't refuse to party with the Godfather,
--Insatiably lusting Robin and her deadly sinners (wouldn't that make a great name for a band?)
